FISH HEAD (also known as MUSHIMASMINGILI REEF)
IDEAL FOR: all divers
DEPTH: from 8 mt of the thila down to more than 30 mt. The diving session will take place inside the 30 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE:shoals of fishes, Napoleon fish, White fin shark of the reef, Turtles, School of fish, big Groupers and, occasionally, Gray Sharks.
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 50 minutes by slow boat (20 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Fish Head is one of the most famous diving points in Maldives and is wellknow worldwide. It is a protected site by the Maldivian Government and is not allowed to fish and, of course, remove any objects. Fish Head is a tower, which rises steeply from the bottom of the atoll, with a plateu up to about 8 meters below the surface. The presence of a huge variety of underwater life has given this site, beside the protection as a marine protected area, also the status of one of the ten most beautiful dives in the world. If during the dive there is not too much current, it is possible to carry out the complete circumnavigation of the site to see all the ledges on which the marine life flourishes and all the marine fauna that in this site can give its best. What a better opportunity to visit it if not staying at our Hangnaameedhoo Guesthouse, just a few minutes boat ride from the diving site.

DHIGURAH BERU THILA
IDEAL FOR: all divers
DEPTH: from 10 mt of the thila down to more than 30 mt. The diving session will take place inside the 30 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE:shoals of fishes, Napoleon fish, White fin shark of the reef and, occasionally, Gray Sharks.
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 75 minutes by slow boat (30 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Dhigurah Beru Thila is situated on a channel near the edge of the atoll. The side of the thila that gives on the channel has beautiful coral terraces and overhangs, while the opposite side has a sandy area at a depth of about 20 mt. Even if the coral reef is mostly made by hard corals, you may also find soft corals. Being close to the edge of the atoll, this reef gives home to many big shoals of fishes, big Napoleon fishes, White fin shark of the reef, stingray and occasionally, Gray Sharks.

KUDAH RAH THILA
IDEAL FOR: medium level divers
DEPTH: from 13 mt over the reef to over 30 mt
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: soft corals, turtles, Napoleon fishes, bluestriped snappers and gorgonias
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 75 minutes by slow boat (30 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: it’s one of the most famous diving spots in the Ari South Atoll, Kudah Rah Thila is a small coral reef, covered in soft corals of all the colors imaginable. Kudah Rah Thila has two big protuberances in it’s east side, full of yellow corals on the roof and huge gorgonia’s corals on the floor. On one extremity of Kudah Rah there is a small arch covered in soft corals. The reef itself is surrounded by big shoals of bluestriped snapper, and it’s regularly visited by turtles, Napoleon fishes and occasionally, White fin shark of the reef and Gray Sharks. Kudah Rah Thila is and it has always been one of the Ari South diving sites opened since the beginning.

HANE THILA
IDEAL FOR: expert divers
DEPTH: from 13 mt over the reef to over 30 mt
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: corals, Fusiliers, Jackfish, Snappers, Sea Eagle and Grey Shark of the reef.
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 50 minutes by slow boat (20 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Hane Thila is a long reef and partially narrow, covered with amazing corals and surrounded by shoals of Fusiliers, Jackfish e Snappers. One side of the reef splits in two creating an interesting area where to see the Sea Eagle or the Grey Shark of the reef, because the currents are reduced.

THINEFUSHI ETERE THILA (also known as THINFUSHI THILA)
IDEAL FOR: medium expertise divers
DEPTH’:from 8 mt over the reef to over 30 mt
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: Gorgonias, Coral whip, Daysi flower coral, Octopus, Turtles, groups of Snappers, Scorpion fishes, Drumfish and White fin Sharks of the Reef.
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 75 minutes by slow boat (30 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Thinefushi Etere Thila is a reef of medium dimension but of great extension on both its sides. The coral reef begins at eight meters, with projections starting from 20 mt. The beautiful coral formations fill this projection with gorgonie, coralli frusta e coralli margherita which grow in abundance. A sandy path separates four rocks from the principal reef. These rocks are plenty covered with soft corals. On this amazing diving site you can also find octopus, turtles, Drumfish, groups of Snappers, scorpion fishes and Grey sharks of the reef.

DHIDHOO BERU FARU (also known as DHIDHDHOO BEYRU)
IDEAL FOR: all divers
DEPTH: from 13 mt over the reef to over 30 mt. The diving will take place inside the 30 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: hard corals, Lion fishes, morays, breed fishes, and, during the right season, Whale sharks.
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 75 minutes by slow boat (30 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Dhidhoo Beru Faru is an extern reef inclined on the south point of Ari Atoll. You can dive with every current. The coral reef starts at 7 mt and is characterized by the growth of hard coral. Many morays, lion fishes and Nudibranchs can be found alongside the reef and often you can see Sea Eagles and Mantas. The strong point of this diving site is the presence of the Whale Shark which are common during the right season.

MAMIGILI KANDU (also known as MAAMIGILI CORNER)
IDEAL FOR: all divers
DEPTH: from 5 mt over the reef to over 30 mt. The diving will take place inside the 30 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: Napoleon fishes, Green Turtles, Whale Sharks and White fin Shark of the Reef.
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 105 minutes by slow boat (50 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: the channel of Maamigili brings to the biggest extern reed of the Ari Atoll, where you can find big shoals of Napoleon fishes, huge Green Turtles and white fin shark of the reef. Maamigili Kandu has earned its reputation as one of the best diving sites in Maldives due to the frequent encounters with Whale Sharks (depending on the season). The whole extern reef has been transformed in a protected marine area to help preserve the population of the Whale Shark living in Maldives.

DHIGURA ETERE THILA (also known as DHIGURA THILA)

WHAT WILL YOU SEE: Soft Corals, Gorgonias, nurse sharks. , Lobsters, Turtles, Scorpion Fish, small Sea Eagle and White Fin Shark of the Reef.
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 75 minutes by slow boat (30 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Dhigura Etere Thila is a reef of medium dimension with projections that are covered with soft corals and gorgonias on both sides. The nurse sharks sometimes can be found in the projections with many lobsters. The turtles, the Scorpion Fishes and the small Sea Eagle have made their home of this diving site, with the sleepy White Fin Shark of the Reef that rest on a sandy floor at 22 mt.

VAKARUFALHI BERU THILA (also known as VISARA DUNE THILA)
IDEAL FOR: expert divers
DEPTH: from 12 mt over the reef to over 30 mt. The diving will take place inside the 30 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: Soft and Hard Corals, White Fin Shark of the Reef, Napoleon Fishes, Stingrays, Sea Eagles, Turtles, Tunas, Fusiliers fish an Batfishes
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 90 minutes by slow boat (45 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Vakarufalhi Beru Thilais a big diving site situated near the side of a channel with an amazing wall, 100 mt long, covered in soft corals. The thila offers also a reef with a infinite variety of hard corals unstrained. . The fishes that usually come to this site are White Fin Shark of the Reef, Napoleon Fishes, Pastinache, Sea Eagles, Turtles, Tunas, Pesci Fucilieri e Pesci Pipistrello. This is an incredibile diving site at the entrance of Vakarufalhi.

VAKARUFALHI ETERE THILA (also known as JEHED THILA)
IDEAL FOR: medium expertise divers
DEPTH: from 8 mt over the reef to over 30 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: Gorgonias, Coral whip, Napoleon Fishes, Grey Fin Shark of the Reef, White Fin Shark of the Reef, Anemones, Blowfishes, Nudibranches e Turtles.
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 90 minutes by slow boat (45 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Vakarufalhi Etere Thila is a long and narrow reef that starts at 8 mt and goes down till a sandy area at about 30 mt. Big projections with huge corals and coralli frusta inside, rocks covered with soft corals, make of this place an incredibile diving site. Napolons, Sharks of the Reef and Grey Fin Shark of the Reef can be seen in the deepest areas of the coral Reef, while on the upper Reef you can see beautiful anemoni, blowfishes, nudibranches and turtles.

BROKEN ROCK
IDEAL FOR: medium expertise divers
DEPTH: from 12 mt over the reef to over 30 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: Gorgonias, Napoleon Fishes, Turtles, Scorpion Fishes, Morays and soft corals
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 75 minutes by slow boat (30 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Broken Rock is one of the most famous divinf sites in the South Ari Atoll tank to its unique formation: it has a canyon that splits the Reef in two, from which derives the name Broken Rock. While swimming through the canyon that divides the thila in two, you can see the big gorgonias that project from the walls. Napoleon Fishes, Turtles, Scorpion Fishes and an extraordinaire variety of sea life, many species of Murrays and lots of soft corals, all making Broken Rock a diving site with something new at every dive.

MAAMIGILI BERU (also known as External MAAMIGILI)
IDEAL FOR: all divers
DEPTH: from 5/7 mt over the reef to over 30 mt. The diving will take place inside the 30 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: Murays, Lion Fishes, Nudibranches, Sea Eagles, Mantas Mobula and Whale Sharks
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 105 minutes by slow boat (50 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Maamigili Beru is an extern Reef on the Southern Point of Ari Atoll and you can dive with all kinds of current. The coral reef starts at 7 mt and it’s dominated by hard corals. You can expect to see many types of Murrays, Lion fishes and nudibranches. Sea Eagles and Mantas mobula are common. During the right time of the year, the Whale Sharks can be seen navigating alongside the coral reef.

MEDDU THILA

WHAT WILL YOU SEE: Acroporas (table corals), Soft Corals, Nudibranches, Murrays, Porcupine Puffer fishes, White Fin Sharks of the Reef, Stingray, Sea Eagles, Turtles, Tuna fish e Fusiliers
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION:
NOTES: Meddu Thila is a big reef situated near the side of the channel, full of beautiful hard and soft corals. The coral reef starts at 12 mt and has layars made of Acroporas (table corals). Hidden between these corals you can find nudibranches, morays and porcupine puffer fishes. While you swim alongside the coral reef, keep an eye for the White Fin Sharks and stingray that sleep in the sandy areas. You can also see the Sea Eagles, Turtles, Tunas and big shoals of fusiliers.

BODUFINOLHU THILA
IDEAL FOR: expert divers
DEPTH: 22 mt. till over 30 mt. The diving will take place inside the 30 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: White Fin Sharks of the Reef, Stingrays, Mantas Mobula and Whale Sharks.
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 120 minutes by slow boat (60 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: the diving site of Bodufinolhu Thila is a small but deep thila, situated on a sandy tableland, 10-20 mt away from a cliff. Bodufinolhu Thila is covered with hard coral. Looking under the block of corals you can see the babies of the White Fin Sharks of the Reef. The sandy tableland is often visited by stingrays and White Fin Sharks. Where the current hits the thila, you can often see mantas mobula. When the season and the currents are favorable there is the chance to see the gentile giants, the Whale Sharks.

DHIGURAH ETERE (also known as DHIGURAH ARCHES)
IDEAL FOR: all divers
DEPTH: 5 mt. – 25 mt.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE: Morays, Stingrays and Lion Fishes
TIME OF TRANSPORTATION: 75 minutes by slow boat (30 minutes by fast boat).
NOTES: Dhigurah Etere is situated on the coral reef of Dhigurah Island, where the reef goes down from 5 to 25 mt. This diving site is full of small inlets, caves and projections where is possible to swim. Murrays, Lion Fishes and stingrays are often seen and, during summer months, it’s possible to see the Mantas too. Dhigurah Etere is also a night diving site!

NOTES: The reef of Dhigurah Beru starts at 5 mt and goes down until a terrace situated at 30-35 mt. you can see shoals of fusiliersi, Turtles and Sea Eagle swim in the blue water, while Murrays and leaf fishes are normally near the Reef. From september till November there is a good chance to see the Whale Sharks.

AAH THILA (also known as KASHI THILA)
